How to ScreenShot In Windows OS with Default Windows Tools

The magic windows tool is called the Snipping Tool available in windows Os by default, although it is not so great you can still use it to achieve a nice screenshot result in any windows Os version without having to install any third party external software application  to have this functionality there.

 Note: At first the snipping tool will make your screen look a little bit faded, This is because the Snipping tool has control now-It is waiting for you to take a picture of your screen or exit from it by clicking on the close button on the top right hand of the little open window of the Tool.

  • Select a snip type from the menu by clicking the New button.

Now we are going to get a detail explaination of what each snip type menu is use for in the drop down menu of the menu New.

Free-form Snip.
The Free-form Snip type menu is use to carve out any odd object out of a picture if only the  shape of actual object in the picture is need, it has a pen tool use to draw out the capture part of the image to be save as an  extraction.
Rectangular Snip.
The Rectangular Snip type menu is usually use to carve out an object from a picture in   a rectangular manner.
Window Snip.
This menu enable us to carve out the entire window excluding the taskbar of the window.
Full-Screen Snip.
It is actually self explainable it use to just  screen shot the entire window including the task bar of the desktop screen.

Now, let's just assume you selected the Rectangular Snip menu type, So to take a screen shot of the specific part of the screen or picture you want to screen shot just click the New menu at the top left part of the little window open and then click on the desired start point and drag your mouse to select out the need part that is to be extracted and then release your mouse. A new window will appear and your screen shot image is right there waiting for you. In this case I just took an image of Google home page on my Firefox browser.


To save the extracted picture you just click on the File menu at the Top left part of  the snipping tool
and then select the drop down menu  "Save As" to save the image as a PNG image file.
